Labor Productivity by Sector

The BLS Productivity and Costs program publishes quarterly measures of labor productivity for major US sectors. Output per hour tracks how much each worker produces in an hour; unit labor cost tracks how much labor cost it takes to produce one unit of output. When productivity rises faster than wages, unit labor costs fall.

Indexes are benchmarked to 2017 = 100. A value of 118 for output per hour means a worker today produces 18% more per hour than in 2017.
